1. Chulilla Hanging Bridges Route
10 km +300 m. gradient / Easy difficulty
Starting from the beautiful town of Chulilla , this surprising, simple and fun excursion takes us through the impressive Turia River Canyon , in the Municipal Natural Park “Los Calderones”, a deep gorge with walls of more than 80 meters.
The route takes us to the Loriguilla Reservoir , which, in addition to offering magnificent views, was the origin of this path, as it was the one used by the workers who built the dam in the 1950s. Hence, this excursion is also known as the route of the swamp dwellers .
The area has become very popular in recent years and currently has a maximum capacity of 500 people on weekends, with a €1 eco-tax being required at the start of the route.

3 km +100 m. / Medium Difficulty
Starting the route in the village of Anna (Canal de Navarrés, Valencia), in just 10 minutes we are immersed in a fascinating “lost world” with tropical vegetation and spectacular waterfalls. This is the route that I recommend doing during the week to avoid crowds.
The path leads us, with water, greenery and freshness as protagonists, to the spectacular Cascada del Salto , which plunges 25 metres from the Gorgo de la Escalera .
The route, although short and not excessively complicated, does require us to overcome some steep steps and small climbs . It is well worth it.

Like all greenways, this route runs along an old railway line; in this case, the Alcoy – Gandía railway, which made the industrial revolution of “little Barcelona” (Alcoy) possible by providing it with a means of communication with the coast, overcoming a rugged terrain.
For our hiking (or cycling) route, we are going to focus on the section between Villalonga (Valencia) and l’Orxa ( Alicante ), about 13 kilometres long (one way) and with a very moderate gradient. We are in an area of great environmental value (the Protected Landscape of Serpis) and of great historical-cultural value.
